Kendogu 剣道具 | Men 面

The men (面) is a helmet paired with the kendogu (剣道具) or kendo equipment. Unlike typical men, I left the grill out of the sculpture to reveal the interior curvature of the headpiece. The opening (or oculus) expresses transparency and vulnerability, especially when over time I withdrew from kendo. The book and radio, then, symbolize the memories replaying in my mind like a burning, broken radio.
