The Story

About Jason Mankie Leung

I am a first-generation Chinese American, born in San Francisco and currently residing in California. I earned my B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis in Organizational Studies and a minor in Sustainability in the Built Environment at the University of California, Davis, where I developed a particular interest in architecture and urban planning.

My professional background includes architectural design and illustration with James McCalligan Architect, where I began working in 2017. My primary work has involved 3D architectural modeling, visualization, and rendering, along with supporting AutoCAD drafting, design development, and architectural documentation. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit, and by how architecture shapes our experience of the built environment.

I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of San Francisco. This path reflects my broader interest in understanding people, their environments, and the ways both shape identity and lived experience. I continue to explore my interest in architecture and urban environments through self-hosted urban sketching events, inviting others to slow down, observe, and draw the spaces around them as a way of becoming more attentive to the places they inhabit.
